Aviva specialises in the areas leadership, conflict management and influential communication, with a passion for supporting individuals to develop as leaders that can grow performance, support cultural shifts and enhance organisational results.
Aviva worked in the public and private sectors of the legal industry and taught negotiation and mediation subjects for the Faculty of Law at Monash University. Aviva’s expertise in conflict management was acknowledged when she was awarded the County Court of Victoria Prize for Negotiation and Mediation Law in 2008.
Harnessing her passion for unlocking leadership capability in others, Aviva moved from legal practice into consulting, facilitating programs and providing executive coaching within a broad mix of government, corporate and commercial clients. A highlight for Aviva was the opportunity to partner with Victoria Legal Aid and support professionals working in the area of child protection.
Aviva’s corporate career includes Learning and Development roles within global law firm, King & Wood Mallesons. Here she was involved in cultural change initiatives and large-scale change projects, as well as coaching and facilitating workshops across the business. Prior to joining MBS, Aviva worked as a Consultant at CMA Learning Group and delivered programs for organisations across Asia, Australia and New Zealand, teaching tools and methodologies developed at Harvard University.
In her role at MBS, Aviva works across open and customised programs. She is the Program Director for the General Management Program and Leading Change programs. She also runs custom Leadership and Change programs for various clients such as Department of Defence, Telstra, CitiPower, NOVA Entertainment, Ngai Tahu New Zealand, and RHB – the third largest bank in Malaysia. Aviva played a key role in designing and delivering a large scale blended learning solution for RHB which integrates coaching, face-to-face workshops, self-paced and just-in time digital learning.
Aviva is currently undertaking a Master of Leadership and Management (Organisation Dynamics) with a focus on organisational psychodynamics and transformational change. Aviva is particularly interested in affecting change through working at the group and system level.
Aviva’s client engagements often start with a discovery process to diagnose needs, and Aviva always seeks to collaborate with clients to design solutions that respond to the client’s unique needs. Aviva can work at both the individual and group level and often blends both approaches to ensure sustainable shifts in mindset and behaviours. She is an engaging facilitator who develops deep relationships and forms strong connections. Aviva always brings energy and passion for working with others, and she approaches each engagement in a spirit of collaboration and exploration.
