From her research, Dr Elizabeth Berryman founded Chnnl, a digital platform allowing real time measurement and insights into mental health and wellbeing of an organisation, driving employee retention, productivity and positive culture by empowering leadership to listen, understand and act on issues as they arise. Elizabeth will share learnings from the development and use of Chnnl.
Dr Elizabeth is focused on solutions that help the health workforce combat issues such as burnout, depression, anxiety and suicide, and is an active researcher in this space. After her own experience of being bullied in a workplace, she is now wildly passionate about supporting workplace culture. She has a wealth of experience in the health sector, starting her career as a Registered Nurse in community Māori Health, before starting Medical School. She lives in Auckland and is a junior doctor at Waitemata District Health Board. She has been past President of the Otago University Medical Students’ Association, New Zealand Medical Students’ Association, Chair of the New Zealand Medical Benevolent Fund, Board Member of the New Zealand Medical Association and currently sits on the Ministry of Health’s Professional Behaviour Taskforce group, Trustee of Wāhine Connect Trust, Howick Baptist Healthcare and Stevensons Village Board and on the Health Informatics New Zealand (HiNZ) board.
