DMS might be one of the mid-sized kiwifruit and avocado orchard management and packhouses in the Bay of Plenty, but it is one of the top in quality.
You are invited to come and see what all the kiwifruit hype is about!

DMS has packhouses in Te Puna and Te Puke.  During their busy kiwifruit season they have 4 packing lines that operate up to 24 hours a day, 7 days a week from March to June each year.  This takes a lot of planning and a great team!
DMS currently employs 175 permanent employees and as at mid-April has an additional 878 seasonal employees working for the 3+ month period.

They have had exciting growth recently and they would love to share some of their journey with you.

In 2022 at their packhouse in Te Puke, DMS Pukepack built a brand new packhouse, several coolstores and extended their purpose-built season accommodation.  This year they have commissioned controlled atmosphere coolstores and have continued to install technology solutions across the packhouse.

At this meet and greet event DMS will show you around their packing operations, showing both the original line as well as the new packhouse; give you a bit of background on DMS; the industry and the challenges they face.  They will share some of the solutions they are using to drive engagement, safety and productivity in a very busy seasonal environment.

Rachael Trimble, DMS Progrowers Ltd

Rachael Trimble has worked with DMS for 'six kiwifruit seasons', they don't talk years of service! Having had a background in the primary industry since coming to New Zealand in 2006, Rachael joined DMS in 2019 then Covid hit in 2000 and boy was that a journey! In an industry that relies very much on International travellers; DMS being deemed an essential service & having significant border restrictions for the following two seasons (even into 2022) meant DMS had to try new ways of attracting staff and addressing labour shortage challenges. Rachael will share some of the challenges faced and the solutions DMS have explored from technology to free meals!
